EV Charging Installation and Maintenance

OVERVIEW

Definition of Electric vehicle (EV) is any vehicle which is powered by electrical energy (fully or partially); supplied by the energy and stored in a battery for propulsion. EV refers to any vehicle which is powered by a battery (fully or partially charged). They are plugged into electrical power sources for the recharging process. These EVs come with a wide range of models, each with different ranges and capabilities. Many manufactures already developed EVs, including Kia, BMW, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Renault, and Volkswagen.
In these modern days, EV technology is evolving and getting popular. The concept of EV exists before the idea of gasoline internal combustion engines. Early in the 1900s, people were using EV more than the gasoline fuelled vehicles on the road in our country. The advancement in battery storage, automation of electric grids, construction of lightweight vehicles and safety measures lead to the rise of the EV in the market as well as increasing its attractiveness and commercialization towards creating a cleaner and more efficient transport choices.
EVSE stands for electric vehicle supply equipment and the function is to supply electric energy to recharge electric vehicles. EVSEs are also known as EV charging stations, electric recharging points or just charging points. EVSEs can provide a charge for the operation of electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid electric-gasoline vehicles.
EV Charging Station Installation module has been developed to provide knowledge and understanding for EVSE, Components, Standards and Testing. We aim to give awareness to public on proper requirements when installing and handling the EVSE.
